Recently I’ve been hearing a phrase used often: “It’s Towson’s Time!”

It is hard to drive through the community without feeling that there is plenty going on to change the skyline. Some of these changes have been years in the making, through work from county government, business organizations, school advocacy groups and private players. To hear more about the current plans for Towson, which holds the County Seat, we sat down this issue with County Executive Johnny O. You’ll want to read about his plans for our community and his family’s heritage of public service.

We also explore two Towson mainstays: Ayd Hardware in Stoneleigh and the annual art show at Towson Presbyterian Preschool. We were excited to take a peek into these two area institutions.

To gear up for Father’s Day on June 16, we tapped local dad and longtime Friends School librarian John Scott to ask what books he and his kids have on the top of their summer reading lists.

With the arrival summer, we here at Towson Lifestyle are going to take a hiatus ourselves. Having served the Towson area for two years now, we feel the need to hit the pause button to refocus.

So as the weather warms, the school year winds down and we prepare for the lovely summer months, let’s celebrate all that makes Towson unique. I have to say, it certainly feels like it’s Towson’s time.
